Good Life Race

The Oak Park Runners Club invites runners and walkers of all ages to participate in one of five events taking place at the Good Life Race 5K on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Oak Park River Forest High School, 201 North Scoville Avenue, Oak Park, IL. Events include a women’s Lively 5K run, a men’s 5K run, a 5K fitness walk, a one mile youth race for kids ages 5 to 12, and a Junior Dash for kids five and under.

All proceeds from race entry fees will be donated to the Oak Park-based Collaboration for Early Childhood and the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry. In 2016 the race proudly donated $25,000 to the organizations and hopes to top that number in 2017.

The Good Life Race will once again be a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) 5K regional championship race this year in addition to being a Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) Runner’s Choice Circuit Race. It is a family friendly event that draws from the Oak Park area and beyond. The Good Life Race is also unique in that it boasts separate 5K races for men and women on top of several additional family-oriented events including Mother/Daughter and Father/Son competitions and, a Community Challenge that invites area organizations to participate as teams.

This popular community event brings out over 1,600 people as well as hosting numerous volunteers and spectators. A flat, fast 5K race course and monetary prizes for top runners attract quality runners of all ages.
Top finishers of the 5K receive handmade plaques and all finishers of the women’s 5K receive a flower as they cross the finish line. Ribbons will be awarded to all youth mile and fitness walk finishers.
